Chinese New Year - D day Neah ... no red packets, but lots of fun. In the morning, Asen and I went to Emmy and Ruby's place for lunch. Interestingly, the condo name is Emerald Park. We cooked simple fried rice, which by the way, tasted good. Thanks Emmy ;) After lunch, we wanted to watch Kungfu Hustle which Asen bought. We loaded into DVD player, waited for couple of minutes watching advertisements, which cannot be skipped, to find that the DVD only has Chinese subtitle. hoooaaa... too bad, we then switched to watch Raising Helen. A very good movie it was. After letting ourselves laze at the sofa, we walked downstairs, and played squash, continued by tennis. Met someone called Angel, introduced by Ruby who came to play tennis. Finished our workout, we went up, took a bath, and went to Great World City to find dinner and to buy Constantine movie ticket. Our plan didn't come out as expected as we can only get the first row for 9.50 PM slot, and 10.10 PM show ticket has been sold out. The next show will be at 00.40 PM. After some discussion, we decided that we'll go for the after-midnight show. And it was dinner time, we went to Nasi Padang opposite Great World City and had our quick dinner there as they were closing soon. After dinner, we realized that we still have more than three hours before the show started, so we all slowly walked back to Emerald Park, and watched the episode finale of Amazing Race 6 there for two hours. Congrats to Freddy and Kendra. We walked back to Great World City soon after midnight and found a full-house theatre waiting. Amazing how so many people came just to see the midnight show. Guess that include us as well, hehehe... The Constantine, hmmmm, was a good show, but it was too difficult to comprehend, gone too far from the truth, made very wild assumptions about Heaven and hell. Oh, it was ONLY a movie anyway, never mind that. After Matrix, and now Constatine, I wonder if our Keanu has found himself like to act in this kind of out-of-this-world-hard-to-understand movie. When the movie ended, we all were sitting with our blur face, looking at each other, see if anyone has really understood what was that movie all about. We walked back to Emerald Park, and stayed a night there, I slept in the living room just in front of the TV ;) Wednesday, February 09, 2005
Chinese New Year - D minus 1 Six of us gathered in Somerset, then scoutted around for our dinner. We went to Cineleisure, but the restaurants on the basement are all closed, so we tried Heeren, no luck. In the end, we stopped by Swensen's at Crown Prince Hotel for our dinner and deserts... *nyum* After that, we walked to Bar None besides Marriott Hotel, but well, we just walked by. We then proceeded to Boat Quay, walked one big round, took some snaps along the way. Reached home around 1 AM, and must now sleep to prepare for tomorrow. And of course, here are the photos. ![]() Deserts at Swensen's ![]() In front of Fullerton Hotel ![]() Walked half big round, half more round to go So, how do you spend your Chinese New Year Eve? Technical Difficulties You may have noticed it, yes, all the pictures I put on my blog are missing. Now it's not Blogdrive's fault, it's Angelfire's fault for suspending my account and removing access to my pictures there. I have been thinking these few days and couldn't think of a fast and dirty way to get my blog back up very soon, so I think I should start looking for better way to link my pictures to my blog. Anyone know a place where I can put hundreds of MB of photos which I can link back to my blog here? For free of course. Thanks. Sorry all my readers for this unforeseen "tragedy". MCSD.NET Certified ![]() At last, more than six months of self-study, I have obtained my MCSD.NET Certification. From Microsoft website, The Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) for Microsoft .NET credential is the top-level certification for advanced developers who design and develop leading-edge enterprise solutions, using Microsoft development tools and technologies as well as the Microsoft .NET Framework. Along the way, I also obtained certification for Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Microsoft Certified Application Developers (MCAD) which are both a sub-set of the MCSD certification. I am now one of only 9,428 persons worldwide to have these certifications. Oh, happy day, and I can look forward to my trip to Bali on Thursday with peace of mind. Sunday, January 23, 2005
Blogdrive or Tabulas? I said in the Mini chat-room or Tagboard that the main reason I am looking to move to Tabulas is that Tabulas has email notification when someone reply your comments. This feature is not available in Blogdrive until now. However, considering the trouble of moving from Blogdrive to Tabulas, I was thinking of any workaround that may solve this problem. Here is what I come out with and one which I need your help. 1. On the right hand column, on top of my counter, you should see a text box saying "If you want to be updated on this weblog Enter your email here:". If you want to be notified when I update my blog with new entries, please enter your email address here, so whenever I post a new entry, you will be notified via email. Currently only a few people have registered their email address for this notification. 2. I have added the "Most Recent Comments" section on the right hand column, which I hope is useful enough for my readers to know what are the latest comments in my blog, instead of you checking each and every post to see if there are any new comments, or if anyone had reply your comments. This will not be live-updated though, since this section is updated manually by me everytime I visit my blog. However, I hope that this small addition is useful enough for you. In the end, I concluded that these two steps should be enough to justify my decision NOT to move to Tabulas, but to say with Blogdrive. We'll see how these two goes in the next few weeks. In the mean time, register your email address for that notification thing, will ya? Thanks. Saturday, January 22, 2005
Sports Day Today is a public holiday and I went to Pulau Ubin for cycling with my eight of my friends, Eric, Eko, Ruby, Ju Ko, Kecap, Jesse, Harpin, and Doddy. We all gathered in Tampines by 9.30 AM, and reached Pulau Ubin before 11 AM. We cycled half the island until it was 1.30 PM when we went for lunch. Amazingly, we finished our lunch shortly after 2 PM, presumably that we were very hungry. We continued the cycling to get round the remaining half of the island until we left the island at around 4 PM. Reached home at around 7 PM, somehow, Eric and I continued to play tennis for 2.5 hours until 10.30 PM. The result after one full day of sports? My body ache, my skins looks reddish, a bit burnt by the sun, and more significant is my butt hurts!!!! Think I shouldn't have sat on the saddle for extensive amount of time. Ohhhhh....... my ..... Let's see how many kg I can lose thanks to today. As usual, coverage is never complete with photos, so here we go. Click on the photos for the larger version or you can click here.
