Logitech MX310 mouse I just bought myself a new Logitech MX 310 mouse for 1/3 of the market price, hehe.. Well, I bought it from a shop which is about to close shop (don't know why), and they were selling their left-overs cheaply. I managed to get hold of a $59 mouse for only $20. It has 6 buttons in total, 4 on top, 1 on each side, and that MX engine !!!! Yes, I was like you yesterday, didn't know what MX engine from Logitech was. But now after I tried that mouse, I can tell you, you can feel its the accuracy, the smoothness after only 5 minutes of using it. Quoting from Logitech: "This is not your ordinary optical mouse. The MX™310 features Logitech's new MX™ Optical Engine, a tracking technology so advanced that you get instant response to even your fastest movements. You´ll get outstanding performance, a comfortable fit, and an array of time-saving extra features... all in an eye-catching design. Once you step up to the advanced precision of the Logitech MX™ Optical Engine, you'll never look back. Once you plug it in, you'll enjoy the difference immediately: from the ultra-smooth, precise tracking to the sleek silver and black design to the comfortable sculpted shape that fits both left and right hands". I couldn't agree more!!! This mouse simply lives to its expectation, and I am not exaggerating here :) Now I know what made it so expensive. It was really a joy to use such a great mouse, especially now with its 66% discount :p ![]() Sunday, February 27, 2005
Back to Opera Last week, I posted the article about browser speed comparisons. Opera 7 used to have a slow start up time, but amazingly the article reported that Opera 8 are so fast that I am curious to try it. I downloaded Opera 8.0 beta 1 (now at Beta 2, but I have not downloaded it yet), installed it, was amazed by its speed now. Tried it for few days now, customized it to my liking, and now I'm back to Opera. Firefox is still installed on my machine, but I have not used it for a few days now. Don't get me wrong, Opera and Firefox has its own merit, but for me, I still prefer Opera for its customize-ability and speed. All extensions that I installed in Firefox, and which I need, I can find a similar match in Opera, so I didn't feel like losing anything now that I've switched back from Firefox to my good ol' browser Opera :) ![]() As you can see from above screenshot, I can customize Opera until so minimal that I don't need the normal File-Edit-View menu anymore. I just collapse it down to a dropdown button, thus giving me more space to view websites. Of course, I don't really need that Back-Forward-Reload button as I can do everything by mouse-gestures, but I put it there, in case someone else is using my browser and they need those buttons :) Friday, February 25, 2005
Hungry mode Actually wanted to blog a post, but currently doesn't feel like doing it, as I am very hungry. 9.05 PM and still in office, thanks to the meeting that was postponed from 3.30 PM to 6.30 PM :( Ah well, I'll update when I've loaded up my energy bar. Update: In the end I reached home almost 2 AM in the morning. Was my fault, making the wrong call not to order dinner for everyone in the office that night, and because of me, four persons skipped dinner, and straight to supper at Lao Pa Sat around 12.30 AM. Next time, must make better decisions. :) Thursday, February 24, 2005
Hong Bao River Now that the Chinese New Year celebration is ending, this was the last week that they will hold the Hong Bao River near Esplanade. Asen has written a post on his blog, and I shall not repeat the same effort. Just head over to his blog and see all the photos we took on Monday night. Wednesday, February 23, 2005

Introducing Titin's Blog She said it's personal blog, but well, after exchanging words with her, she let me link her blog here. hehehe... She is one of my best friend while I was in my university years in NTU, one who has helped me a lot going through NTU, hehehe... We kinda seldom exchange words after we both graduated and found our jobs, but just recently talked to her again after the Chinese New Year gathering we had. Well, so much I can tell for now, you can read the rest in her blog. So, go, visit her blog, and of course encourage her to write more often ;) Sunday, February 20, 2005
Browser speed comparisons An unbiased as it can be, this article compares so many kinds of browsers with so many versions of each browsers on so many operating systems. Overall, it's a good read, and if you don't want to read the whole article, just jump to the conclusion. http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/browserSpeed.html After reading the article, if you don't have a good reason why you are still using one of those slow browsers, I think it's your time to change your browser. For myself, I am currently using Firefox 1.0? Why not Opera? It was my favorite browser, but sadly Gmail doesn't work in Opera as well as in Firefox. I am still waiting eagerly for Opera 8.0, and by that time it launches, don't be surprised if I switch back to Opera. It has been proven as the fastest browser, and I love a fast browser. So, which browser are you using right now? Saturday, February 19, 2005
What a poem ![]() What a poem, hahaha... Try saying that to your girlfriend :p BTW, how did you spend your Valentine's day? Friday, February 18, 2005
Be afraid if ... Just wanted to share the verse I read this morning. "The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation." (Numbers 14:18) and "you will suffer for your sins and know what it is like to have me against you." (Numbers 14:34b) The last verse made tremble and thought hard. Have I gone too far from God as to become His enemy? Be afraid if you have God against you, be very very afraid. Tuesday, February 15, 2005
Memory Usage Madness ![]() Yeah, just one of those days when some applications decided to hung my notebook by hogging 2 GB of memory usage. No option but to turn it off the "hard" way. Now who said, 1 GB RAM was enough? hehe...
